"First that which is Physical then that which is Spiritual"
1Cor 15:
. 46 Nevertheless, the first is, not that which is spiritual, but that which is physical, afterward that which is spiritual.
Even though the context here is about resurrection it appears that this thought of Physical first then Spiritual applies to many subjects having to do with mankind.
Physical Spiritual
Literal Nation of Israel w/ law covenant. Spiritual Israel w/ new covenant
Literal circumsion of the flesh Spiritual circumsion of the heart
Literal anointing of Kings and Priests Spiriual anointing of Kings
and Priests in new covenant.
Worshiping according to the law Worshiping in Spirit and Tuth
The original Tent The spiritual tent.
The list goes on and on with regards to the facets of physical parts of the nation of Isreal.
But does this mean that in the end everything will be spiritual and all the physical will be done away with?
I'm thinking not because of these scriptures:
Gen 1
28 Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”
Isaiah 45:
18 For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else
Isaiah 55:
8 “For the thoughts of YOU people are not my thoughts, nor are my ways YOUR ways,” is the utterance of Jehovah. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than YOUR ways, and my thoughts than YOUR thoughts. 10 For just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.
It is obvious that Jehovah wants the earth to be made into a paradise like the one he made in Eden as a example.
What the physical first nation of Israel could not accomplish the Spiritual nation of Israel will.
And this will be accomplished on this earth.
Rev 1
7 Look! He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, and those who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief because of him. Yes, Amen.
Rev 3
. 10 Because you kept the word about my endurance, I will also keep you from the hour of test, which is to come upon the whole inhabited earth, to put a test upon those dwelling on the earth.
Rev 5
. 9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”
Rev 6
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying: “Until when, Sovereign Lord holy and true, are you refraining from judging and avenging our blood upon those who dwell on the earth?
Rev 11
. 10 And those dwelling on the earth rejoice over them and enjoy themselves, and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those dwelling on the earth.
. 18 But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”
Rev 20
7 Now as soon as the thousand years have been ended, Satan will be let loose out of his prison, 8 and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Ma′gog, to gather them together for the war. The number of these is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they advanced over the breadth of the earth and encircled the camp of the holy ones and the beloved city. But fire came down out of heaven and devoured them.
The word earth is used 88 times in the book of Revelation. And while most of the book is written in signs and some of those signs have to do with this word I do not believe that the word earth is always a code or sign for something else than this created planet that we call home.
Jehovah's word will be completely fulfilled as he originally intended. And this will be accomplished by Spiritual Isreal.
There are certainly many more subjects that have to do with Physical first then Spiritual. I would welcome more thoughts on this subject.
